Northern Lights Toys is a small family and disabled veteran owned manufacturer of the Create-A-Lure. They have been putting this product together for the past year, ensuring that they use only high quality paints and lures, not knock-off brands from far off distant countries. Affordable, durable, carefully crafted toys that last is their goal.

E-Commerce Website
This unique e-commerce website started with only one product, the original “Create-A-Lure” Mystery Box. They are continuing to add different products as the company grows. However, at this time we have highlighted “Create-A-Lure” on the homepage, along with the latest version, the Muskie Edition. Because this specific toy is a whole new concept, our challenge was to explain to the viewer what the product was and why they should buy it. This consisted of photography, custom graphics and later we were able to share a customer’s unboxing video.
Photography
The custom photography was shot in three separate photoshoots. The client sent some lures that their children have already painted. Shooting on a gravel road, we were able to capture the different lures highlighting the painter’s creativity. Our second photoshoot consisted of our children testing out the product for themselves. We able to capture the smiles and enjoyment of kids actually using the product. The third photoshoot consisted of the blank lures, some white and some clear. We used a white background and multiple angles of lighting. We then were able to mask each lure individually to create crisp, detailed and high quality product photos.
Pay-Per-Click
Targeting the right audience, we designed and created custom marketing campaigns for holidays and other special occasions. Working with the client, we were able to effectively increase profit margin by encouraging add-ons.
Graphic Design
Using the client’s existing brand and illustrations, we designed all the product boxes. We also designed the inside instruction information. Additionally we designed the ads for the PPC campaigns.

The Create-A-Lure idea came to them when they were thinking of different toys to get for their kids for Christmas. They wanted to make sure that they were getting toys that got them away from their screens, outside and actually doing and building something that they can see the results with quickly.

So, as they thought of ideas it occurred to them that there is not another product like this out there and that has to do with one of our family’s favorite hobby, fishing. When you grow up in the land of 10,000 lakes that is the number one ample resource Minnesota has to offer outdoor enthusiasts.

As it grows, they will be adding additional products. They will be focus on toys and products that promote outdoor activities at a more economical price. Their goal is not to get rich; their goal is to provide today’s parents and youth with better quality toys that will engage the children in different areas related to outdoor activities. They strive to bring our customers something different than what you will find at the big box locations where every kid opening their gifts ends up with the same junk toy that will break or be thrown away within a few months.
